History
The Department of Plant Protection was established in 1982 in Tekirdağ as a unit of Trakya University in Edirne. With the establishment of Namik Kemal University in 2006, the Department has carried out its studies and works as part of this University. The Department of Plant Protection had its first graduate students in the academic year 1997-1998. Untill 2011, the Department had 218 undergraduate, 33 master and 2 doctoral students.
